French Open 1999 The 1999 French Open was the first of the two Grand Slam Championships that Agassi claimed that year. He beat Andrei Medvedev 1-6, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 to win the French Open. With the French Open title, Agassi became only the fifth men's tennis player to win all four Grand Slam tournaments after Don Budge, Roy Emerson, Fred Perry and Rod Laver.
