37 affected by dengue in Delhi

The Delhi dengue control room on Wednesday confirmed the death of a dengue victim. The number of people suffering from the disease in the city has mounted to 37.

The control room identified the deceased as Abhairaj, 23, who had been admitted to the LNJP Hospital. Six more victims of dengue had been admitted to different hospitals in the city, it said.

The Delhi government has banned the use of coolers, often a breeding ground for the aedes mosquito, which spreads the disease.

Dengue claimed about 400 lives in the city last year, besides affecting thousands of other people.
