6 CRPF men killed in Imphal

A Central Reserve Police Force assistant commandant and five personnel were killed on Wednesday when militants ambushed a convoy at Nongpok Kakching in Imphal's east district.

Police said the ultras exploded a powerful remote-controlled bomb when the convoy was passing Nongpok Kakching. The vehicle carrying the victims was blown to smithereens.

The ultras took away five weapons, including an AK 47 rifle, before escaping into the nearby hills. A massive combing operation is on in the area.
