7 new ministers in Haryana

Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal on Wednesday elevated one minister of state to cabinet rank and inducted seven others, raising the strength of his council of ministers to 33.

Governor Mahabir Prasad administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at a simple ceremony at Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh.

Ramesh Chander Kaushik, who was till now minister of state, and Jaswant Singh were sworn in as cabinet minsters. Harish Kumar, Ram Bhajan Aggarwal, Jagbir Singh Malik, Kanta Devi, Raj Kumar Saini and Sat Narain Lather took oath as ministers of state.

Bhim Sen Mehta, who was to take oath as minister of state, was not present.

The ministry has now 20 cabinet ministers and 13 ministers of state.
