9 killed in Bihar as Marxist-Leninist militants clash
At least nine people were killed and three seriously injured when two rival Marxist-Leninist groups clashed near Khadasin village in Jehanabad district of central Bihar on Tuesday night.
Superintendent of Police R S Bhatti said the banned Maoist Communist Centre's militants attacked the village and shot nine people dead. The victims are said to be the supporters of another banned organisation, Party Unity.
Batti said the MCC activists, equipped with firearms and
lethal weapons, fled to the nearby Aurangabad district after the
incident.
Meanwhile, the villagers staged a demonstration at the spot where the killings took place, demanding that Chief Minister Rabri Devi visit the village before the bodies are handed over to the district authorities.
