14 die of diarrhoea in Banka district

Fourteen people, including women and children, have died and about 262 taken ill of diarrhoea in Bihar's Banka district during the last one week.

Officials said six people died in Chandwa, three in Katoria, two each in Amarpur and Banka and one in Ranon block.

The affected have been admitted to hospitals and a team of doctors been sent to the villages. More than 7,890 water tanks have been cleaned to prevent the disease from spreading, officials said.
