CPI-ML congress from Oct 20

The Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist will hold its sixth party congress in Varanasi from October 20.

Party general secretary Vinod Mishra said the congress would formulate strategies to bring revolutionary Left forces to the centrestage of national politics. He said the Indian polity was facing an institutional crisis and people were looking for a ''new alternative''.

The issues which will figure prominently during the party congress are communalism, corruption and the economic situation in the country.
