12 hurt as train derails near Jaipur

At least 12 passengers of the Ahmedabad-bound Delhi-Ahmedabad Express were injured when 11 coaches and the train's engine derailed near Kanota town in Jaipur district on Friday.

Former Union home minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Murli Manohar Joshi was also on the train. He is reported to be safe and unhurt.

Sources said 11 of the injured were admitted to the railway hospital in Jaipur.

Several trains, including the Shatabdi Express and the Pooja Express, were cancelled following the derailment while the Ashram Express was diverted.
