Detained Canadian plane takes off

The Canada Air (CL-60) aircraft, which was forcelanded by the Indian Air Force in Bombay for straying into ''defence sensitive'' areas on Saturday, took off for its destination, Beijing, on Tuesday evening.

The plane was given the director general of civil aviation's clearance after the investigating agencies found ''nothing incriminating''.

The plane's flight plan, however, has been changed -- skipping New Delhi, it will now fly directly to Beijing.

The plane, which was on a chartered flight from Dubai to New Delhi, reportedly strayed into Jamnagar, a ''defence sensitive'' area.

The IAF alerted the air traffic control. When the plane ignored the ATC's signals, two IAF jets forced it to land in Bombay.

The crew and the passengers were questioned intensively by the central investigative agencies before the plane was cleared by DGCA.

The plane had reportedly strayed from the permitted route in its attempt to take a short route, the sources added.
