27 hurt as bombs explode in Delhi

At least 27 people were injured, seven of them seriously, when three crude bombs exploded during a procession in the busy Sadar Bazaar locality of north Delhi on Wednesday evening.

According to the police, the blasts took place within a gap of 10 minutes around 1700 hours within a kilometre stretch between Baratooti Chowk and Pul Qutub road.

The first blast took place at the back of the Agrasen Jayanti procession as it was moving from Baratooti towards Pul Qutub road, injuring 16 people. Ten minutes later, a bomb placed inside a loudspeaker fitted on to a truck, carrying the tableau of Maharaja Agrasen, went off, injuring seven.

Within a few minutes, the third blast occurred as a crude device rolled off the truck and fell on the road.
