AP gets technological park for rural development
A state-of-the-art technological park for rural development will be
set up on the outskirts of Hyderabad shortly.
Union Minister for Rural Areas and Employment K Yerram Naidu says the park
will be located at the National Institute of Rural Development.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who
inaugurated the NIRD foundation day celebrations, readily
agreed to institute Director-General R C Choudhary's
request that 50 acres of land should be provided for the park.
The proposed park will concentrate on developing technologies
pertaining to drudgery elimination, sanitation, solid waste disposal,
eco-friendly technologies and promoting manufacturing processes by rural households. It would also develop technologies pertaining
to rural roads, low-cost building, food and agro products and those
relevant to artisans, rural energy and communication.
