Former Delhi CM gets bail in defamation case

Former chief minister Madan Lal Khurana has been granted bail by a Delhi court in a defamation case filed against him.

The bail was granted by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Prem Kumar in a case filed by social worker Sudesh Manchanda, who has alleged that Khurana had called her a prostitute and that she was running a brothel in her house.

Khurana also directed the police and municipal officials to demolish her house adjacent to a temple, run by her, in Ramesh Nagar in West Delhi, she claimed.

The court directed Khurana to furnish a bond of Rs 10,000 and a surety of a like amount to secure the bail.
