Rain claims four more lives in Bihar

Incessant rain claimed four more lives in Nalanda district of Bihar during the past 24 hours, official sources said in Biharsharif on Tuesday.

Two children died when a house collapsed at Baridargha on Tuesday morning while another died in a wall collapse at Asthama Bazaar in the district on Monday night. A woman was drowned at Chatiyana village on Monday.

Sources said more than 3,200 houses collapsed due to heavy rain in the district during the past week and more than 500 villages were reeling under the impact of flood water.

Train services on the Rajgir-Bhakityarpur section of the Eastern Railway have been paralysed for the past three days due to submerging of tracks by rain water. Road communication had also been snapped, the sources said.
