13 killed in Bihar

Thirteen people, including four extremists, were killed in separate incidents in Bihar.

An official report from Bhagalpur said eight youths were killed on Monday when a group of unidentified criminals threw them into the Hanumayan dam in Banka district.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (eastern range) Ajit Dutta said the criminals had caught hold of 11 youths, tied their feet and hands, and threw them into the water after robbing them. Three managed to swim ashore.

At Jehanabad, two activists from the outlawed Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) and the Mazdoor Kishan Sangram Samiti were killed on Tuesday morning in an encounter near Deora village.

In the extremist-dominated Palamau district, suspected Maoist Communist Centre militants killed three activists of a banned party in two different incidents.
