As Gurugram's Ryan International school reopened today, 10 days after the murder of 7-year-old Pradhyumn Thakur on its premises, parents of students said they are worried for their children's safety as security issues have still not been addressed by the authorities.
"From now we'll have fear in our minds till our kids would reach home," said one of the students' parents to ANI.
On September 8, Pradhyumn was found murdered in the school's bathroom. Police arrested Ashok Kumar, a school bus conductor, for allegedly murdering they boy who is said to have resisted his sexual attack.
The crime raised questions about inadequate security and the Supreme Court initiated an inquiry into safety procedures in all of India's private schools.

Chavan's counsel Amit Desai told a division bench of justices R V More and Sadhana Jadhav that while in December 2013, the then governor had refused to grant sanction to the CBI to prosecute him, the central probing agency later sought to review the order claiming change in circumstances and fresh material in the form of evidence.
The apex court was informed by the bar body that they have withdrawn their earlier resolution in which they had said that no lawyer will represent any of the accused in the case.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra observed that an accused has the right to be represented by an advocate and the bar was under an obligation not to obstruct any lawyer from appearing on behalf of an accused.
"We must say without any hesitation that any accused, whatever the offence maybe, has a right to be represented by an advocate. The tradition of bar does not authorise any bar association to pass a resolution like this.
"However, the solace is realising the fault. The bar association has withdrawn it (resolution)," the bench, also comprising Justice A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud, said.
The bench was hearing a plea filed by Francis Thomas, the northern zone head of Ryan Group, seeking transfer of the student murder case from the local court at Sohna, alleging that the bar has restrained lawyers from representing the accused in the sensational case. Thomas was arrested in connection with the case.
During the hearing, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi and advocate Sandeep Kapur, appearing for Thomas, told the bench there was "hostile atmosphere" at the Sohna court and no lawyer was appearing for the accused in the case. Class 2 student Pradyuman was found with his throat slit on the morning of September 8 in the toilet of the Ryan International School in Gurgaon. Soon after the disqualifications of the 18 MLAs of the TTV Dinakaran camp was announced this morning this is what followed:
Dr V Maitreyan, Rajya Sabha MP of the AIADMK met Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
Dr V Maitreyan then met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
We have learnt that consultations are on over the legal and political ramifications after the disqualifications.
Manoj Pandian, a senior lawyer of the AIADMK, also held discussions with Supreme Court advocates and got draft affidavits approved to be presented to the Election Commission.
On Tuesday, a high-level delegation is likely to meet the Election Commission to submit a petition that the two groups of AIADMK identified as the OPS and EPS groups have met and passed a resolution of their merger and elected O Pannerselvam as the coordinator of the AIADMK.
The decision of the Election Commission on the two leaves election symbol of the AIADMK is crucial for the ensuing Panchayat polls in Tamil Nadu.
The removal of VK Sasikala as general secretary of the AIADMK was drafted in New Delhi. This week, OPS and EPS are likely to air dash to Delhi to say a big thank you. There were accusations from the Opposition in Tamil Nadu Opposition that the BJP is scripting the political drama in Tamil Nadu drama.
There is no immediate evidence for this, but it may be recalled that Palaniswami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July for an hour followed by another meeting with O Pannerselvam.
The BJP has always been saying that two factions of the AIADMK should merge to keep Sasikala out of the AIADMK. That has since happened, and it is believed to have been discussed by the PM at the his meetings with EPS and OPS
It is likely that the AIADMK will be part of the Union Cabinet. M Thambidurai and Dr V Maitreyan have prepared their groundwork for this purpose. Informed sources confirm that the AIADMK might join the Modi government before the winter session of Parliament since there has been a political pressure from AIADMK to this effect.
Announcing the Rs 34,000-crore loan waiver scheme, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana, in June, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said 89 lakh farmers would benefit from it.
Last week, Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil said at least 10 lakh bank accounts of farmers were fake and they will not get any benefit of the loan waiver.
His statement invited criticism from opposition leaders as well as farmer organisations.
However, the officials maintained Patil may not be widely off the mark.
Department officials maintained that despite several reminders, the cooperative and public sector banks have failed to provide a detailed list of farmers having outstanding loan.
This has raised suspicion about the exact number of agriculturists having outstanding loans, they said. Currently, farmers are in the process of filing applications for getting benefit under the scheme.
The state government has extended the deadline from September 14 to 22 for receiving online applications from eligible cultivators. State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) possesses details of all the banks and farmers having outstanding loans.
A senior officer from SLBC said, "Earlier, the practice was to handover an account number and write the outstanding loan amount next to it.
"In view of the 2007-8 loan waiver controversy, when undeserving loans were also settled, the current state government sought names of farmers as per the banks' record. Banks had to make necessary changes to come up with a list of all the required details of farmers."
The department officials said despite several requests the banks have also not given the list of beneficiaries of 2007-8 loan waiver scheme.
As on last Sunday, 1,00,85,326 farmers have registered themselves with the government for loan waiver. Of these, 55,40,732 have filled the required form and uploaded it on the government's website.
This morning, the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly P Dhanapal, called up Governor Rao and informed him of the disqualification of the 18 MLAs loyal to the Dinakaran camp. As per protocol, the governor should be informed ahead of the media.
Governor Rao and Venkaiah Naidu are close friends, and their meeting was private, but it is believed that they did discuss Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu politics.
While many may not admit to it, Naidu is one of the key figures who 'saved' the Tamil Nadu government from the clutches of Sasikala. Naidu has been a close political observer of Tamil Nadu and had in fact monitored the funeral arrangements for the state's former CM J Jayalalithaa.
Ever since, many political leaders of the AIADMK have begun to meet him. The other bonus of course, is that Venkaiah Naidu speaks Tamil and understands the internal dynamism of the AIADMK functioning. Consequently, Narendra Modi has come to depends on Naidu's briefings on the AIADMK and Tamil Nadu.

It sent four men, including a government servant, to three years of rigorous imprisonment for grievously assaulting their neighbours, a man and his son in 2007, over political rivalry. The convicts were allegedly then workers of BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, according to the complaint.
"The case depicts a glaring example of rising intolerance among the natives of this city who, even on trivial issues involving their alleged political faiths, do not even hesitate in attacking their own neighbours with such fury that even if the other side loses life, that would hardly matter to them.
"A person in a democratic set up like India is free to follow any political ideology, but it does not give him a right to force others to succumb to his mandate," Additional Sessions Judge Lokesh Kumar Sharma said.
Convicts Vijay Kumar, Rishi Pal, a government servant, Ashok and Satbir were sent behind bars for offences under sections 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 325 (causing grave injuries) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC.
"The need of the hour is to curb such rising intolerance and to award a suitable and adequate sentence commensurate to the gravity of offence," the court said.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud considered the submission of Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the central government, that the counter affidavit would be filed today itself.
The bench then fixed the PIL and several other interim applications, seeking to intervene in the case for hearing at 2 pm on October 3.
The bench, meanwhile, did not issue notice to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), which is already seized of the matter and has recently issued notice to the Central government.
Lawyer Prashant Bhushan, appearing for two Rohingya refugees, submitted that NHRC's response be sought in this matter as the independent rights body is already seized of the issue.
The plea, filed by two Rohingya immigrants, Mohammad Salimullah and Mohammad Shaqir, who are registered refugees under the United Nations High Commission of Refugees (UNHCR), said they had taken refuge in India after escaping from Myanmar due to alleged widespread discrimination, violence and bloodshed against the community there.
The alleged violent attacks have led to an exodus of Rohingya tribals from the western Rakhine state in that country to India and Bangladesh. Many of those who had fled to India after the earlier spate of violence, have settled in Jammu, Hyderabad, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR and Rajasthan.
The plea said that India has ratified and is a signatory to various conventions that recognise the Principle of "Non-Refoulement', which prohibits deportation of refugees to a country where they may face threat to their lives.
