Kuldip Nayyar, Shabana, Ramanna nominated to RS

Kuldip Nayyar, journalist and former high commissioner to the United Kingdom, actress Shabana Azmi and Dr Raja Ramanna are among the nine wellknown Indians nominated to the Rajya Sabha.

According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique, the others the President has nominated to the Upper House of Parliament are film-maker Mrinal Sen, social worker Nirmala Deshpande, novelist Kartar Singh Duggal, former Union Public Service Commission member M S Selvi Dass, Jnanpith award-winner C Narayan Reddy and social worker Chaudhury Harmohan Singh Yadav.

With this nine of the 12 vacancies for nominated members in the Rajya Sabha have been filled.
