10 militants killed in Kashmir

Ten militants including six Pakistani intruders were killed in the R S Pura sector on Wednesday.

According to a Border Security Force spokesman, the infiltrators had crossed over at the Abdullian border post.

On being challenged, they tried to turn back even as the Pakistani troops opened fire and the BSF retaliated. The exchange continued till late on Wednesday night.

A search of the area on Thursday led to the recovery of six unidentified bodies.

In another incident, security forces killed four militants and seized 70 kg of explosives in the Kashmir valley.

Following a tip-off, a search operation was launched at the Bridge Tip forest in the frontier district of Kupwara. Militants opened fire at the combing party. When the police returned the fire, at least four militants were killed.
