Paswan is JD Parliamentary Board chief

Union Railway Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has been nominated as chairman of the Janata Dal's Parliamentary Board.

Dr Bapu Kaldate takes over as the party's secretary general, a position held by Paswan till now.

Announcing this on Wednesday, party president Sharad Yadav said the five new general secretaries are: Wasim Ahmed, Promilla Dandavate, Prabhat Kumar Samantray, Dr Ravinder Kumar Ravi and Mohan Prakash.

Civil Aviation Minister Chand Mahal Ibrahim will be the party treasurer and Obaidullah Khan Azmi its vice-president.

Last week, Sharad Yadav constituted the 77-member national executive which will hold its first two-day session in New Delhi on September 11 and 12.
