Bihar records 15 murders in 24 hours

At least 15 people were killed in separate incidents in different parts of Bihar in the past 24 hours.

Five people were reported killed and four injured when a 4,000 strong mob attacked a labourers locality at Jhurkusia village in Bhagalpur district.

A Rashtriya Janta Dal activist was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Batsara village under the Muzaffarpur district.

A woman was murdered near Vishnu Dutt village in the Ushahari police station limits.

According to a report from Chapra, two people, including a women, were killed in separate incidents in two villages of Saran district. Anti-social elements stabbed one person to death near Gautampur village under the Rivilganj police station.

Reportedly, irate villagers blocked the Chapra-Rivilganj road and paralysed traffic for several hours in protest against the killing. Shops and business establishments also downed their shutters.

In another report from Bagha, two people were killed and two, including a child, abducted by unidentified miscreants in separate incidents. The incidents occurred under different police station limits in west Champaran district.

Police Superintendent H N Deva revealed that one person was shot dead by some unidentified men at Monhar village under Thakratha police station.

In another incident, a child was abducted from Bishnupur village under Pathwaria police station, while another person was abducted from Tarkulwa village under Chotkha police station in west Champaran district.
