106-year-old woman raped

A 106-year-old widow was allegedly raped by a 50-year-old man in southwest Delhi late on Friday night.

The incident occurred when the woman, who can neither speak nor hear or see clearly, was sleeping in her house. Her neighbour sneaked in and allegedly raped the woman.

Her shouts for help woke up her family, who caught the accused and beat him up. He was admitted later to the Safdarjung Hospital.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where preliminary medical report confirmed the rape.

This is the second such incident in the capital in two months. A 80-year-old woman was raped in northwest Delhi last month.
