40 killed in boat mishap in Bihar

At least 40 people were feared drowned in a boat mishap in Morhar river near Nimsar village of Gaya district on Friday.

Official sources said more than 60 passengers were on the boat, 20 of whom swam to safety. Not a single body has been traced so far.

The tragedy took place when the boat was overloaded near Nimsar village under the Tekari police station.

Divers have been pressed into service and nets were also being used to fish out the bodies. The divers were facing difficulties due to turbulence in the river.
