10 die of diarrhoea in Bihar

At least 10 people, including seven children and a woman, died of diarrhoea in Vaishali district in Bihar during the past week.

Official sources said on Friday that four children died of the disease at Hajipur and three in Sudhona village. Three others died at Guraul village due to water-borne infections.

Sources said at least 480 patients of diarrhoea had been admitted to government hospitals, where the condition of 12 was reported to be critical.

A report said at least 18 people died of kala-azar at different government hospitals in Vaishali district during the past three months following a shortage of medicine.

More than 391 people suffering from the disease have been admitted to different government hospitals in the district.
