New AP governor sworn in

Orissa Governor Gopala Ramanujam on Friday assumed additional charge of Andhra Pradesh. He was sworn in as governor at a function at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Andhra Pradesh high court Chief Justice P S Misra administered the oath of office to Ramanujam.

The vacancy arose after Krishan Kant assumed office as vice-president on Thursday.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, his cabinet colleagues and top officials were among those who attended the swearing-in ceremony.
