Naidu triggers another storm in AP
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's letters to his ministerial colleagues and state government officials has kicked up a row.
In the golden jubilee year of India's Independence, Naidu wants his team to emulate the colonial masters. His letter has directed all concerned to adopt former prime minister John Major's The Citizen's Charter -- Raising the Standard.
The charter, which was presented by Major to the British parliament in July 1991, lists out the principles of ''good'' governance.
Naidu feels the charter will tone up the state administration, and has ''threatened'' to personally monitor the progress made in this regard after a fortnight.
