J&K militants kill three hostages

The Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday recovered the bodies of three unidentified men, kidnapped by the banned Hizbul Mujahideen in Anantnag.

This followed disclosures by a self-styled platoon commander of the Hizbul, arrested early on Sunday. The bodies were buried in an orchard at Brakapora. The three men were kidnapped on August 9.

Over the weekend, five people, including the hostages, were killed in the valley.

Among the 18 men arrested were eight militants trying to cross over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir from Kupwara for training. A cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from them.
