12 hurt in Bihar train mishap

At least 12 people were injured when the35-Up passenger train rammed into a goods train on the outer signal of Dalan station on the North-Eastern Frontier Railway's Kathiwar-Purnea section on Friday.

Railway sources here said four bogies. Two each of the passenger and goods trains, were damaged in the collision. All the injured when admitted to the nearby hospital.

Sources said senior railway officials had reached the spot and were supervising the rescue and relief operation. Normal traffic on the route was expected to resume by Saturday.

Meanwhile, the railway department had suspended the station master of Dalan station in connection with this accident. An inquiry had been ordered.
