He exhorted the nearly 100 Indian-American Republicans in attendance, including a handful of delegates and alternates, saying, "I look forward to working with you on this election cycle where we can elect a friend of India, which is John McCain, with your help."
According to him, "This is a great week for the people of India, it's a great week for persons of Indian American heritage."
"This week will be a determination by the Nuclear Suppliers Group of the success of the (US-India) civilian nuclear agreement. We know of the success through the International Atomic Energy Agency. Now we have just one more hurdle and then I believe we will be secure," he said.
Wilson, who is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, asserted that the deal "is good for the people of India. By having a safe and clear and secure energy source, this will provide for the health and safety of the people of India. This will provide for jobs for the people of India. This is so good."
