Since Independence, India has had 20 ambassadors to the US till date, starting from K Asaf Ali in 1947-1948 to the current envoy Ronen Sen.
The United States, in the same period since 1947, has had 20 ambassadors to India as well, starting from Henry E Grady (1947-1948) to the present envoy, David C Mulford.
