'We need more such guys in India'

October 9, 2007
Sanjith A, 22
MBA student

Undoubtedly, Che is the greatest man of the century barring probably Mahatma Gandhi.

Though their path to the common goal was completely opposite, their thoughts revolutionised humanity. The greatness of Che was the fact that he was born an Argentine but went on to fight for countries to which his only connection was human suffering.

Tell me is there anyone in India who would have such a thought other than the Mahatma himself.

A doctor by profession, he went on to heal the human soul reminding the world that equality could be brought, as long as someone was willing to fight for it.

His fight against capitalism will never be understood in today's world of which we are all victims of. The very thought of Che gives me a sense of direction and an urge to strive harder. His passion and focus will always remain a part of my mind and soul.

His constant fight against a world segmented by race, color, language and country lead him to the revolution at Cuba resulting in the setting up of a class free society. His efforts in other countries did not receive the same level of enthusiasm as it did in Cuba however his efforts in fighting for a world in which every person has a chance will never be forgotten.

Like Gandhi, he never aspired for power or position but went on to fight for the independence of other countries once he had achieved independence for another country.

Today he is an icon though there are still a few idiots who think he was Bob Marley or a rock star.

His death led to the end of all possibilities of a free world. He was truly a world leader whose only army was his thoughts of a united world. We need more such guys in India.
