Those intrepid food explorers
It's interesting that the modern world of clattering computers is one the best possible ways to keep in touch with some of the most enjoyable and rewarding facets of our heritage -- the zing of homemade lemon pickle souring in the summer sun, a drink that tastes like halwa meeting a parched throat, and the best made paneer, all come together in a tour into the soul of a newly discovered India. I have questions for my family about exotic spicing and tales and legends even they barely remember, and have learned the intimate secrets of faraway families I will never see.
When examining the domestic history of individuals that are splayed out over their own personal bandwidth, I imagined a small, orderly coterie of fellow foodies based on the very first food blog event I visited.
In actuality, a few errant clicks of the mouse led me to over a hundred people in the Indian food blogosphere, with the promise of even more if I followed links from this spiraling web. I could easily fill an encyclopedia with the intrepid kitchen-istas I discovered.
