Kitchen divas

An event in the food blogworld is often hosted by a rotating cadre of volunteers: Individual bloggers, or a whole creative community, generally featuring a particular theme or certain key ingredients each kitchen diva then incorporates into a recipe. Their final melange is a totally unique menu.

Here are some events that intrigued me: Maheswari in Illinois Beyond The Usual started one called a Fruit A Month, in which bloggers are challenged to use that month's fruit to create a dish or drink (this month's was watermelon); Lakshmi who types up hot mouthfuls at Veggie Cuisine began Regional Cuisines of India, where everyone pitches in with favourite recipes from various parts of the subcontinent (the most recent being Maharashtrian); Nupur at One Hot Stove launched an insanely ambitious (and very successful) A-Z of Indian vegetables, getting people to choose a vegetable ingredient that corresponds which that week's letter (you must tune in, if only to see what they'll do for 'X').
