Cooperation between India and Libya in the economic, commercial and cultural fields was boosted with the signing of several agreements, including one on promoting investments, during External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee's visit to that country.
Mukherjee, who arrived in Libya on Friday, was on his first visit there since becoming External Affairs Minister in 2006.
During his visit to Libya, he had extensive discussions with his counterpart Abdul Rehman Shalgem and also met the top leadership of Libya, including Prime Minister Baghdadi Mahmudi. The visit was at the highest level in 22 years since late prime minister Indira Gandhi came to Libya.
