The Eiffel Tower, Paris
Tour Eiffel, as the French call this iron tower, is located on the Champs de Mars by the Seine river.
Some facts you probably did not know:
Built in 1889, it was for a time the tallest tower in the world.
It weighs 7,300 tonnes.
The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited sites in the world. Last year, nearly seven million people admired the tower Gustave Eiffel designed.
The tower sways a few centimetres in the wind and expands in the sun.
The Eiffel Tower requires 50 to 60 tonnes of paint.
