August 18 marked the 62nd death anniversary of freedom-fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
It is believed that Bose died in a plane crash over Taiwan in 1945. But his death has never been conclusively confirmed though two Indian commissions were set up and sent to Taiwan and Japan in the 1950s and 1960s to investigate his death.
But in the heart of Tokyo, Japan, exists the 14th century Buddhist shrine, the Renkoji Temple. This tiny temple has housed the ashes of Bose since his death.
