Mahajan case: The net grows wider

< Back > < Next >

Even as Rahul Mahajan was given bail, the next to be in the spotlight in the drug abuse case have been Delhi's premier Apollo Hospital and Sahil Zaroo, the Kashmiri student who is alleged to have supplied drugs to Rahul and the late Bibek Maitra.

Police, maintaining that Rahul did not need to have been put on a ventilator when he was admitted, began questioning Apollo staff and senior doctors. Raji Chandru, assitant to hospital owner Pratap Reddy, was interrogated as she has been accused of footing Rahul's medical expenses. She has denied the charges but the police may question Reddy as their investigations continue.

Meanwhile, Zaroo, who had been in judicial custody, was granted bail but has been asked not to leave Delhi and to surrender his passport.
