As you approach the main gate, you are greeted by two very imposing stone lions.
The lions on the Victoria Memorial represent victory and majesty.

The building has another lion on the northern side -- a lion's head with water flowing out of it passes into four troughs, representing the Indus, Ganga, Yamuna and Krishna rivers.
