From Kolkata to Mumbai: Durga Puja

Lokhandwala Puja

Glamour and gloss. Often adorned by celebrities, the focus here is on addas, which Bengalis are often identified with.

Bhog (prasad) is an indispensable part of the puja and thousands come and eat here every afternoon. The bhog comprises Luchi, Payesh Khichdi and Vegetable Mishmash. Anjan Chatterjee of Oh! Calcutta has also set up a food court at the ground, much to the satisfaction of Bengali gastronomes.

With cultural shows being an integral part of the puja, people have been gathering in huge numbers to watch heroes like Sudesh Bhonsle, Sunidhi Chauhan, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan perform live. Actor Anupam Kher's play Kuch Bhi ho Sakta Hain and a mono-act by Shekhar Suman are special attractions this year. Holding on at the helm of virtually everything, is Abhijeet.
