The Sena chief asked Pawar to think about political friendship.
In his speech on the occasion, Thackeray said, "Maharashtra is in a position to lead the nation, so we should become united and provide good leadership."
"The people of Maharashtra are talented, but are never united. Instead of giving a tough time to enemies by coming together, they fight among themselves," the Sena supremo said.
Pawar, who spoke before Thackeray, but didn't touch upon any political topic, joked, "Myself and Bal Thackeray were business partners. We started a weekly magazine with some friend long ago, but it flopped."
