The clothes Pushpa is washing were handed over to her by a relief agency. The coloured plastic buckets and pots she had with her also were supplied by an agency.

"We survived the waves, all of us -- myself, my two small kids and my husband. But we are left with nothing except the clothes we were wearing. At least now, I have a few saris to wear and the kids have some dresses too. Somebody gave me some vessels too. That's why I decided to come here and start cooking. I have had enough of standing in the queue like beggars for food. Hereafter, I am going to sit in the open and cook food for my family." Pushpa says.

She waits for the day her husband will get a new fishing net and a catamaran so that he can start earning again. "I don't know when that day will come."
