Amina Cachalia (left), an activist from South Africa, is greatly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi.
Among other things, she founded the Women's Progressive Union to foster training, development skills and financial independence among women.
She was also actively involved with the African National Congress and other political movements.
Basudeo Pandey (right) served as the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago between 1996 and 2001, and is considered one of the most respected leaders from the Indian community in the Caribbean.
