The rich and poor were carrying silt on heads and those who could not find iron bowls were carrying it in hands.

In fact, there were so many devotees that the kar sewa, which was supposed to take over a fortnight, was almost over within the first 12 hours.

SGPC chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra, former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and Bibi Jagir Kaur praying for the successful completion of the kar sewa.
