According to a report in The Indian Express, the Bank of Punjab gifted to the SGPC five gold spades traditionally used for initiating the kar sewa.

The Nishkam Sewa Jatha from London chipped in with six quintals of gold for re-gilding the Darbar Sahib and an Australian Sikh donated Rs 50 lakh for laying the water pipes.

Ranjit Singh, the youngest of the Tut brothers, explaining the water filtration plant project to journalists. Ranjit had been working on this project since January 2003 and is in Amritsar to supervise the installation of the plant, which will clean 25,000 litres of water per minute.
