Dancing on a new floor

Devastated by an accident in which she lost one of her legs, Sudha Chandran struggled for several years before emerging as one of India's leading dancers.

She became an icon for millions of youth when her film Nache Mayuri - based on her real life story -- hit Indian screens.

Apart for her regular acting career in television, Chandran now has new role to play. She joined the BJP and will aggressively campaign for the party.

"Since my childhood I always knew that India was a land of scarcity but this has changed ever since the BJP started ruling our country," she says.

"I feel honoured to be in this party, especially because I really admire Vajpayeeji. He has a vision like no other person in this country."
