One leg in each camp?

Laxman Singh (centre) is not just a former Congress MP but also the younger brother of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and Congress stalwart Digvijay Singh.

His joining the BJP on February 24 was a major embarrassment for the Congress. Some people suspect the move was meant to help him 'manage' some court cases filed against Digvijay Singh by the BJP government in the state.

He counters the allegations. "I joined the BJP because Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's National Democratic Alliance government is the only non-Congress one to be in power for so long and thrive. It has no parallels."

Digvijay Singh has promised to ensure Laxman Singh's defeat. All eyes will undoubtedly be focused on this clash.
