Dream Girl to weave saffron dreams
She ruled the Indian marquee in the 1970s and was called 'Dream Girl', the name of one of her movies. She is a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha.

Politics is not new to her. She has been campaigning for the BJP for the last three years, starting with BJP candidate Vinod Khanna in Gurdaspur in Punjab during the 1999 general elections but formally joined the party only on February 19.
"I am joining BJP as I feel very close to its ideology. I have great admiration for Atal Bihari Vajpayee," said the actress. "I have not come into politics in a big way. I want to see my country grow," she said evading the Ram Temple issue and other political questions.
When she addresses rallies across the country, it will give a different meaning to Prime Minister Vajpayee's statement that the BJP knows how to make dreams come true.
