After demanding arms licenses for Bihar doctors in view of increasing criminal attacks on them, the Indian Medical Association has decided to form a public relation sub-committee for bringing lawyers, politicians, social workers and businessmen under a common banner to fight against the 'reign of terror' unleashed by them.
The IMA (Bihar unit) secretary Sahjanand Singh told rediff.com that this was decided at a meeting on Monday.
Last week, the IMA had demanded that the state government issue arms licenses to doctors to protect themselves and their family members.
Over half a dozen doctors were kidnapped and another dozen attacked in various parts of the state this year alone.
The IMA also decided to call an urgent meeting of the State Working Committee to discuss the further course of action for the safety of doctors.
However, the IMA expressed its satisfaction over the steps taken by the government.
