Sarwar had earlier created a flutter by announcing his resignation following differences over nomination of Nilamber Choudhury, a Congress member of the state legislative council, to the syndicate of the Rajendra Agriculture University at Pusa in Samastipur district.
Sarwar, a former speaker of the legislative assembly, had accused Choudhury of having offered him a bribe of Rs 500,000 for getting nominated to the syndicate.
"I would have never allowed my reputation to be sullied by getting such a man nominated to an august body like a university syndicate," Sarwar had said.
Speaking to reporters in her chamber in the assembly in the presence of Sarwar, Rabri Devi said, ''Sarwar is our chacha (uncle) and our guardian. He has been persuaded to continue in the cabinet. The differences have been sorted out,'' she said.
"Differences have been resolved and since the chief minister has not accepted my resignation, I will continue in office," Sarwar said.
