Vigilance Bureau submits PPSC scam report to Punjab government

The Vigilance Bureau (VB) has submitted its report on the investigation into the infamous Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) job scandal to the state government for further action.

The bureau has also constituted five special teams comprising senior vigilance officers to arrest candidates who got themselves selected by 'heavily bribing' suspended PPSC chairman R P S Sidhu and others, VB Director A P Pandey said in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

The scam was unearthed after Sidhu was arrested in March this year while allegedly accepting a bribe.

The bureau has also ordered a probe into the irregularities committed and disproportionate asset accumulated by civil and police officers.

Addressing a state-level meeting of senior officers of the bureau, Pandey said efficient, honest and vigilant officers were required to completely eliminate corruption from society.
