Taleban chief to visit Pakistan next month

Chief of Afghanistan's ruling Taleban Mullah Mohammad Omar would visit Pakistan on April nine to attend the Deoband Conference organised by the Jamaat-e-Islami.

During his visit, Omar, who has not permitted anyone to photograph him as he considered it un-Islamic, is expected to meet a number of Pakistani leaders, including military ruler General Pervez Musharraf, local Urdu newspaper Ausaf said in Islamabad on Tuesday.

This would be Omar's first visit to a foreign country after the militia took control of over 90% of Afghanistan.

Omar is no stranger to Pakistan as he studied in an Islamic seminary in Pakistan's port city of Karachi, where he was indoctrinated with fundamentalist Islamic ideology, the daily reported.
