Enforcement inspector dismissed in Bihar

Bihar Transport Commissioner-cum-Secretary N K Sinha has dismissed Sitaram Paswan, the controversial enforcement inspector, from government service in an apparent bid to demoralise Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav, brother of Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi.

Sinha dismissed Paswan under provisions of Article 311 (2) (B) of the Constitution and a notification to this effect was issued on Tuesday, official sources said.

According to the notification, the behaviour and action of Paswan lowered the prestige of the administrative machinery and his further continuance in government service would not serve public interest.

The three-page notification said in case any departmental inquiry was ordered the investigating officer would find it difficult to give an impartial report regarding an official who is well-connected and powerful.

Sinha had filed a complaint petition in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Patna, for a fair and honest probe into the case filed by him against Sadhu Yadav, for allegedly manhandling him to secure Paswan's transfer order.

Sinha had charged Sadhu with committing offences under Sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 149 (unlawful assembly), 336 (act endangering life and personal safety of others), 341 (wrongful confinement), besides several other sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Retaliating to the case filed against him, Sadhu Yadav, the legislator from Gopalganj, has given a privilege notice against Sinha and others for allegedly implicating him in a false case.
